Welcome to New Beginnings, a minimum twelve months Christian Ministry for women who desire a new way of life. Keeping the Lord as our focal point, New Beginnings is a place for women to learn more about God’s grace, His Spirit within us, and His instructions for us to live by which are found in His living Word, the Bible.
The primary goal of New Beginnings Ministry is for each woman to enter into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no greater hope for our life than a loving relationship with Jesus. Bible scripture says, For God so loved the world, (you and me) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever, (you and me) believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life (rebirth). John 3:16 . The Bible also says, The thief comes (drugs, alcohol, sin,) only to steal, kill and destroy , (that means you, your family, your life, and eternity with Jesus). Jesus said, I come to give you life and have it more abundantly! John 10:10 . PRAISE THE LORD!
We hope that through this experience you will know God’s love and grace as you have never before experienced it. We thank you and Praise God that you are reaching out for help. We will keep you in prayer and hope that you will ask earnestly for the Lord to guide you. Ask Him to direct your path. You must take responsibility for your own learning. The journey to a New Beginning in Christ requires a minute-by-minute commitment to change your life. May God bless and keep you in this commitment.
Our work at New Beginnings continues to evolve as we explore the next frontiers of this work. Very much in line with the battered women’s movement as a whole, our recent development has focused on children, prevention, and serving our diverse communities. Our focus has moved from being solely on the victim/survivor as an individual to also working with his/her children. We offer an array of services for children and teens who have been affected by domestic and sexual violence, especially those who witness domestic violence. We encourage our community partners to become engaged in prevention as well, and have presented to community groups about prevention and its importance. We have a presence in every school district in Belknap County and are consistently furthering our involvement by expanding our programming in more schools.
“The need for family-strengthening services in East Contra Costa County is exceedingly high because it has the highest incidence of domestic violence and child abuse, which has led to an increase in families entering the child welfare system. Dr. McCullough of Brighter Beginnings has been instrumental in terms of her proactive intervention with distressed families in the county, and she has been a tireless advocate for the reinstatement of the recently-cut Black Infant Health program.” — Ray Merritt, Division Manager, East Contra Costa County, Employment and Human Services (Retired March 2011)
